Starting care shouldn’t feel overwhelming.
At Metanoia Health, we make your first visit simple and welcoming. Whether you’re coming for psychology, adult psychiatry, counselling, endocrinology, or paediatric support, our team will take the time to listen, understand, and work with you to create a plan that suits your needs.
What to expect
-
You can call or email our team anytime with questions, or if we receive your referral directly from your GP, our friendly admin may reach out to you first and help guide you through the process.
You will be asked to complete a few intake forms before your visit, these help your clinician understand your history, needs, and goals.
It’s helpful to bring or send any relevant information, such as reports, GP letters, lab results, or school assessments. What’s required may vary depending on the service or clinician you’re seeing.
-
Your first session is all about understanding you and your needs.
Depending on the service and clinician, your appointment may include:
Talking through your concerns, goals, and history
Reviewing any reports, assessments, or medical information you’ve provided
Discussing possible strategies, treatments, or next steps
Working together to create a personalised plan for your care
Our goal is for you to leave feeling supported, informed, and clear about what comes next.
-
After your first session, your clinician will:
Summarise the discussion and next steps for you
Let you know if any follow-up appointments, tests, or reports are needed
Provide guidance on strategies, referrals, or supports that might help
You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions or clarify anything you didn’t cover during the session.
Our goal is for you to leave feeling confident about your care and supported in taking the next steps.
